Course Description: Basic concepts of electrical engineering. Applications of Kirchhoff's Laws to simple resistive circuits. Solution of resistor networks using mesh and node analysis and Thevenin's and Norton's theorems. Characteristics of capacitance, inductance, and coupled elements. Solution of differential equations describing RL, RC, and RLC circuits for zero input, zero state, and complete response. Mesh and node analysis of sinusoidal steady-state circuits in the time domain. PREREQUISITE: PH 262. PRE- or COREQUISITE: MA 282. Three hours each week.
