Emphasis on parts of speech, basic sentence patterns, and appropriate use of verb tenses. PREREQUISITE: Placement by testing required by the College of non-native speakers of English. For computation of tuition this course is equivalent to five semester hours. Five hours each week. Additional laboratory required. THREE CREDITS. NOT APPLICABLE TO A DEGREE OR CERTIFICATE. Emphasis on the stages of the writing process including editing, revising, and the use of major patterns of organization. May not be taken as a substitute for EN 101 or EN 101A. PREREQUISITE: EL103 with a grade of C or better or placement by testing required by the College for non-native speakers of English. PRE- or COREQUISITES: EL 110 and RD 103.
